Basic Rules

1. Age Policy

Besties RP is an 18+ recommended community due to the potential presence of mature content. As of May 7, 2025, new members under 18 are no longer admitted.

Current members are expected to respect community guidelines and avoid engaging in mature discussions with those identified as "Junior Besties."

By joining and participating, members acknowledge the nature of the community and take personal responsibility for their interactions.

Staff may ask for age verification at their discretion.

2. Community Conduct

No hate speech or harassment. Racism, antisemitism, homophobia, sexism, or any form of harassment will result in a permanent ban. Besties is a safe place for all. Please report any violations to staff as soon as possible.
No trolling, toxicity, spam, or behavior meant to provoke, harass, or disrupt others.
All usernames, banners, statuses, bios, and profile pictures must be appropriate and not offensive in the Besties RP Discord server and in any in-city social media accounts.
If you're intentionally disrupting others' RP with low-effort roleplay, being obnoxious, or clearly not taking the server seriously, you’ll be warned and potentially removed.
No unwanted advances in or out of the city. Everyone deserves to feel safe while playing.

3. Server Staff

Staff members are volunteers and roleplayers like everyone else. Do not ask staff in-city about non-RP matters. Open a ticket instead.
Impersonating staff will result in a permanent ban.
Staff may not use their powers for personal gain. All staff actions are logged and monitored by management. If you witness any staff abusing their permissions, please open up a staff report ticket.

4. Roleplay Etiquette

RP comes first. Gunplay should always be secondary to meaningful roleplay. Character development and quality interactions matter more than shootouts.
Being a criminal is NOT an excuse to excessively kill, rob, or engage in low-effort RP. You’re still expected to provide quality roleplay and consider the experience of others, regardless of your character’s lifestyle.
Use realistic and appropriate character names. Put effort into your characters and stories.
PED characters are not allowed unless approved by staff via ticket.
Exploiting, cheating, or abusing game mechanics for advantage or RP manipulation is strictly prohibited. Failing to report known exploits is also a rule break.
Do not respawn during an active scene or return to a scene where your character was fully killed (Stage 2).
Combat logging — leaving the game after dying to avoid consequences — is prohibited. Disconnecting during pivotal moments will be investigated and may be treated as combat logging at staff discretion.

5. Tickets

When opening a ticket, include as much information as possible. Be patient — tickets are handled in the order received.
If you use third-party graphics packs, you must notify staff via ticket. Unapproved packs will result in a warning and review. Continued use after warning can lead to a permanent ban.
When reporting a player or situation, include a clip and player ID. Clipping software isn’t required to play but is highly recommended for your protection.
False reports or dishonesty with staff is not allowed and may lead to punishment.

6. Green Zones

Hospitals and server events are considered green zones at all times.

Combat may not start in these areas. If a scene begins elsewhere and moves into a green zone naturally, that’s allowed — but avoid lingering without purpose.

Camping in green zones or using them to hide from RP is not allowed. These cases will be handled at staff discretion.

7. Metagaming

Metagaming is using out-of-character (OOC) information to influence your in-character (IC) actions. It is not allowed. Examples include:

Using info from Discord, Twitch, or streams to guide RP.
Letting knowledge from one character affect how you play another.
Transferring items, money, or information between your own characters.
Sharing or receiving IC details like locations or identities OOC.
Do not talk about in-city information and events in Discord calls while you're actively involved in a scene. We get that people hang out in VC, but if you're in a scene, you should not be discussing anything that's happening IC.

8. Fail RP

Fail RP refers to behavior that breaks immersion, disrespects RP standards, or goes against the rules. This includes:

Using a phone or radio while cuffed.
Breaking character or going OOC without staff approval.
Failing to value your life or acting unrealistically in dangerous situations.
Trying to flee while surrounded or with no clear exit.
RDM/VDM — attacking or killing without RP buildup or valid reason.
Baiting police just to provoke a response, with no intent to create mutual RP.

Once you are flat backed (Stage 2 Death) you are not to remember what has happened to you or the events leading up to your death.
